Hello Macky3,

Your old PC could be running on very low memory space and that is why it is taking too long to open the files that you have downloaded. The solution to that problem will be either you empty some files or downloads from the primary hard drive that are eating up a lot of space and back them up on an external hard drive so as to free up some memory space that will be used by the system, or you will need to upgrade the RAM capacity of your system.

Upgrade the memory to 1 GB or over for it to able to perform faster.

Hope this helps.
