Canon Multipass F30 not printing because of wrong cartridge

Hello, you guys!

I am a Canon Multipass F30 user and it has been running very smoothly for months now until recently when I started getting the error message, "Wrong Cartridge". This is funny because I didn't even change the cartridge. The printer is blocked from functioning by this error message. Because of this, the printer can't print and I can't change the settings.

I read through the manual and the solution mentioned was to 'Reinstall Print head.'

Do you have any other recommendations? Please let me know. Thanks!

 Dear Olisamuels,

Cleaning Methodology is the best to get past the issue.
One of the Major causes of incorrect error message might be based on the fact that the color cartridge has gone empty or the ink has dried in the print head. The below mentioned cleaning procedure might be of great assistance.

Steps :

  1. Open the printer as you want to change the cartridges.
  2. All the cartridges are now moved to the left so you can change them remove the print head.
  3. Place the print head in hot water in the kitchen sink.
  4. Use a Q-tip or a tissue paper to clean the print head. Repeat the cleaning procedure till you feel that you have thoroughly done your part.
  5. Reinstall the print head and insert the cartridges.
  6. Run a self test.
  7. Use the set button to accept the vertical and horizontal pattern.

Hi there! You can try to reset the print head but if it still gives you the same error, you can try to clean it if you can. This is how to do that, first click printer settings, below Menu button until Printer Settings appears. Then press the Set button twice. Press the left and right arrows until you see Head Cleaning on the LCD display. Press Set once again to start the print head cleaning process. It might be that your printer needs a new print head. If the unit is under warranty (comes with one year) you can call Canon to get a replacement. If the unit is under warranty (comes with one year) you can call Canon to get a replacement. I hope this helped. Thanks!
