When I am attempting to get into the tab through a remote Dashboard session an error just popped out as shown in the image below.

Windows Storage Server 2008 R2 Dashboard: Dashboard.exe – Application Error

The instruction at 0×00992d2a referenced memory at 0×0000000c. The memory could not be read.

Click on OK to terminate the program

There was an application mistake that took place in the R2 Dashboard of the Windows Storage Server as the memory is unreadable. Shall I just terminate the program.

By the way, why this pop up alert appeared?

Hi Sidney,

The main reason causing this error is that a reference is being made to portions of the physical memory which does not exist.

So, an attempt to access the memory location that has no physical existence, will definitely result in an error.

Coming to the solution, there are two possible solutions to this problem.

  • Download BHO Demon from here, install it and inactivate all the BHOs. (Refer to the user guide that comes with this software to know how to deactivate BHOs).
  • Run ‘Deckard’s System Scanner’, ‘Superantispyware’ and ‘Dr. Web Cureit’. These tools are available online and can be easily searched.

Hope you find this useful.

1. Check for machine certificates.

2. You may have two certificates, one of them is your "server name" and the other "server name-CA".

3. Be sure that the two certificates have valid dates.

4. If they were no trusted root, so copy the other certificate and paste it into the Trusted Root Certification Authorities.

5. If you have the certificates got trusted, so the dashboard might work successfully.

Or

1. Open Remote Desktop to the home server.

2. Then open control panel, click Administrative Tools and Certification Authority.

3. On the server name-CA, right click and choose from All Tasks >"Renew CA certificate".

4. Then on the server name-CA, right click and choose from All Tasks >"start service".

5. Reboot the system and open the dashboard.
