If you are well-known of how to get rid of registries and other components of a particular program using safe mode, more likely your problem will be solved. If not however, you can try restoring your system from the date before you installed the update manager. Just simply go to Accessories > System Tools > System Restore and choose a restore point then follow the steps that will show. This will remove every piece of component of the program you got.
