Can we replace only the backlight in LCDs?

Hello there. I'm using a sony type LCD tv and recently due to bad weather it got a minor shock. I checked it and it worked on the following day. But now the brightness of the tv gets changed. according to my knowledge this happens due to the backlight. Is it possible to replace the backlight alone without buying a new TV? Thanks

Yes you can replace the backlight but the problem you are telling is not due to backlight this is due to the tube of the TV that make the picture very bad. So for better result you should have to replace the tube of the TV and this will solve your problem. If you still feel any problem then you must contact your customer care to resolve this problem as there are something which only customer care knows about their specific product. So you should have to call your customer care in order to solve this issue. Hope this solution will solve your problem.
