Can’t call or sms from Skype

Hello,now I have installed skype software on windows xp operating system but it’s show me different error.When I call someone or they call me it ends the call automatically says problem with recording device also I can’t send any sms by using this software. After that I reinstalled the software but no positive result found. How to overcome this?

Some fixes for your error:

  1. This error is typically caused by a problem with your microphone. Open Skype, click Tools> Options>Audio Settings and make sure that the microphone is set to whatever make and model you have.
  2. Make sure you have the correct and latest version of DirectX for Windows XP.  You can download the latest version here
  3. Firewalls can affect Skype’s connection.  Make sure that it isn’t blocked by your firewall.
  4. Reset your Internet Explorer settings (even if Internet Explorer isn’t your default browser). Click Tools> Internet Options> Advanced> Reset
  5. Make sure that your PC meets the minimum system requirements by clicking here
  6. Open Skype, Click on the following: Tools> Options> Advanced> Advanced Settings> Connections and make sure that the checkbox next to uPnP is unchecked. Click Save

Happy to support you!

It can be your Skype version is not compatible with the computer & the peripherals. So, use Skype 7.0 & try to upgrade the headset driver. Install the latest versions of the other device drivers including display, webcam, microphone, etc.

Also try unplugging all devices, try another USB slot (better to swap the USB location between head phone and another device) & manage the hub connections using USB view.
