Can someone please explain the usefulness of Flash?

Hi, I’m hoping for someone to help me understand the usefulness of Flash. I have been trying to choose between the iPad 2 and a Galaxy Tab 10.1. A light-weight actual notebook is also an option. I would like to know whether I’d truly be missing anything if I don’t have Flash on the iPad 2? There’s another thing that I’m ignorant about. Is it mandatory to use an a site/company’s app or can I simply browse the webpage. For instance, I can either choose a bank application or visit the respective webpage for online banking. Which one will be preferable? Also, how do PCs and notebooks differ from each other actually? I know about some of the software, like MS Word, Excel and so on, but can you please tell about anything else? Your help would be highly appreciated. Thanks a lot for your time.

To give you information on Flash Player, it adds hardware acceleration for the computer or other mobile devices. It is used to add animation, video and interactivity to web pages. This application is usually used for advertising and making animation with audio's for a more colorful,animated and interesting ads.

It is currently downloadable at Adobe's site for free. Flash Player is not available in iPad 2 but there are alternatives like Av Player and Buzz Player HD. The most commonly used is the Buzz which is also a multimedia player that supports many audio & video codes and file formats and various streaming protocols that are compatible for iPad 2.

The difference is, Apple's control over their products makes the availability of applications harder and mostly sold while Androids, that Galaxy Tab is using are made available for free at the Android Market. This gives limitless availability of apps. An advantage that gives more personalized tablet experience.

Are you referring to PC Laptop against Notebooks? Or Desktop PC to Laptops? If PC Laptop to Notebooks, give credit to Laptops because they have faster speed and bigger memory for you to use, good for gaming, movie streaming while notebooks is basically good only for web browsing, office and clerical works. 1) What is Flash and why to use it?

Flash is the vector of animation software; originally designed to create animations for display on web pages. It's ideal for the web because they are so lightweight.

Currently, Flash has be made more and more controllable via programming, where they have positioned as a competitor on HTML to build interactive web sites and applications such as an e-commerce store. Good reason of the Flash as following:

  • Flash movies faster load and save on download time, because Flash is vector based where is not as HTML.
  • Flash intelligently ‘caches’ of movies, so it doesn’t have to be reloaded.
  • Flash gives the user (the person viewing/using the Flash movie) a more responsive ‘rich-client’ like experience.
  • Flash pages can be made load faster.
     

2) What’s different between iPad 2 and Galaxy Tab 10.1, accordingly using or not using Flash?

  • The iPad 2 is not used Flash, so that when browsing and open the website, it's don't have adaptation as mobile's display; but it's still as PC's display.
  • The Galaxy Tab 10.1 is using Flash, then when it’s open some website, where that have two alternative of viewer, you can choice as one system between as mobile's display or as PC's display.
     

3) Which one would be preferable to browsing or web page like online banking?

It's will be easy browse the webpage with Galaxy Tab 10.1, because so many site or company’s app is using flash, and off course that is mean easy support using by mobile’s display.

That’s depending on what it's you like to choice for. I also got to tell you something here, for some people the different of this case is not so important or it's no problem. Because the screen size of iPad 2 is width almost like a notebook screen size, so that still easy to you use although have no mobile’s display.

4) How do notebooks and PCs differ from each other actually?

A notebook generally has fewer features than a PC's; such as have no CD/DVD drive and a lower-end of graphics card. PCs have all the cool stuff like much better graphics card, internal DVD+RW drive, and.  Have much stuff that the notebook could be missing. But, a notebook will offer more flexibility directly about the space and place. Because a size of notebook is smaller and simpler then PC's, it's can be easily to moving, placing or bring in the road and using on the car.
