Can not create local file pool directories

Hello,

I installed Moodle 2.5.2 on my Mac Operating System but I am getting the following error message hen I try to upload files to my 'private files', by picking them. I use the auto feature to install and upload plug-in. I just checked the dataroot for permission and everything was fine. What’s wrong with this and how can I fix this issue? Have any idea to resolve the problem? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi,

You need to know the behavior of the file that you are saving to private folder. You also needs to know how Moodle create the directory. You need to check the content hash of the file that might be already registered on first upload. Thus you need to know the behavior of the file and how Moodle creates the directory. It is not possible to check the content has of the file as Moodle uses sha1 for encryption. Hence, you need to trace it and finally delete it. In that case, I feel uploading will be possible.

Alternatively, the Moodle 2.5 might be picking alternative path that it picks during installation process. It might be that you are using sub domains and the Moodle is picking up alternative directory path. Install Moodle again and check when it asks for the confirmation of the directory path. This might well be another reason.
