Hi,

Verizon in home agent is compatible with Windows 7, Vista and Xp operating systems so you won't be having any problems there. But if you are going to install a new operating system your current Verizon will of course also be uninstalled along with your previous OS. So before changing your OS it would be advisable to backup an installer of Verizon or if you can just get a new copy of the software.

Hi Frank,

Every software installed on a current Operating system will be wiped out if you wanted to reformat the computer. Should you do a back up it will only be effective with files and your folders. Not unless you create an image of your current profile on your computer. However, if that software offers cloud system then chances are you can just download your information on it from the system.

If you previously have Windows 7 and you are using Vz In-Home Agent and now you want to shift or downgrade to Windows XP and still want to use Vz In-Home Agent, there should be no problem because Microsoft Windows XP is supported. If you no longer have the installer, you can download the latest Vz In-Home Agent from the Verizon website.

The latest version supports Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. It requires 512 MB RAM and 1024 x 768 minimum screen resolution. For Mac, it supports OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard and higher.
