Hello Jane Thmcalpine,

Good day!

You can try this. First click on Windows » Start, typing \"touchpad\" into search and clicking on \"update drivers\".>Update Synaptics, then restart your PC.

After trying the Synaptic ones if it is still not working try to install the Elantech ones. This may resolve the issue.

Also with Acer aspire, its scroll lock on the F12 button. You can enable it. OR you can try to press Fn +F7 together.

Hope this would help you.

Good luck!

If your problem is with your laptop’s touchpad, try installing the driver. If you have an Acer Aspire 5750 laptop, go to Acer Product Support – Aspire 5750. Here, select your correct operating system to display the correct drivers. Download and install all available drivers for your machine especially the software for your touchpad.

There are two available drivers for your touchpad so try installing one of the two. If the first driver doesn’t work, uninstall it then download the other driver. Download the free version of Revo Uninstaller and install it. Once installed, start Revo Uninstaller then select the touchpad software you installed among the applications and click “Uninstall”. Follow the normal uninstall process.

When you are prompted to restart the computer, click to restart later. When uninstall is complete, click “Scan” to scan your computer for any leftover files and delete everything it finds. This removes everything the program created on your computer. When it is finished, close Revo Uninstaller then restart the computer. After booting, download and install the other touchpad driver then see if it works.
