Resetting windows XP to the default settings is not that hard you can just restore your personal computer to the date you first installed the windows XP. To do this, just go to Start button > All programs > Accessories > then System Tools > then System Restore. Just choose the date when you first installed Windows XP. And then you can now reset your Windows to its default setting.

Unfortunately, a computer that runs on Microsoft Windows is not like a Smartphone that you can factory reset anytime you like when a problem happens. There is no such thing as factory reset on a personal computer to restore its settings back to default.

If you want everything to be restored back to when you first installed it, you need to format your system drive and install a fresh copy of Microsoft Windows again. This is the only way you can restore the operating system’s settings back to default.

If you want to restore an application back to its default settings, you can uninstall it from the Control Panel or use third-party applications like Revo Uninstaller. Normally or sometimes, uninstalling a program using the Control Panel does not remove everything that the program added to your computer. Sometimes especially registry entries are left on your computer after the program is uninstalled.

To make sure everything is removed, use third-party applications like Revo Uninstaller.
