Hello there,

I have this error with this software, I want to find out if there is a problem with my laptop. Please experts help us to fix this and maybe you can tell what and why this error appeared.

The call to DllRegisterServer failed with error code 0x80020009.

HTMLtools is a set of web page conversion tools. You are probably getting this error because you are using a very old version which is possible to contain bugs. The first version, I think, was created in 2009 but it is no longer being provided as download in its official website. The remaining version that can be downloaded is the 2010 version which is around 39.7 MB.

To see if the problem has something to do with your current version, download the latest from HTMLtools Dist 2010. Before you install this, uninstall your old version first, restart your computer, and then install this version you just downloaded. In case you run into the same problem, try registering the DLL file by running the following command in the command prompt:

• regsvr32 htmlshell.dll

If the error was for a different DLL file, just replace “htmlshell.dll” with the name of the DLL file in error. To open the command prompt, click Start, Run, and type without quotes “cmd” and hit Enter.
