Hey, the steps for the 2000-0142 dell error code are as follows:

First enter the OS over the DVD drive and press for F2 option
Now go to the boot machine > install windows or repair
Next opt for the repair
If asked for the admin password enters the same.
Next type the chkdsk and enter the same.
After the repair work is over exit the same and restart the system to get effect
And it’s done successfully.
