Yes, that is very possible using third-party applications like Rufus. This program runs out-of-the-box and does not require installation. It is a great tool when you want to create a bootable USB flash drive using a bootable CD that you have. This is very useful when you want to use a USB flash drive when installing a fresh copy of the Microsoft Windows operating system.

To try this, first, download the latest Rufus. The latest version at the moment supports Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8.x, and Windows 10 both 32-bit and 64-bit. Next, prepare the ISO image of your bootable CD. If you don’t have yet an ISO file, you can create one using ImgBurn. This is a free program to burn CDs, DVDs, and Blu-rays.

Use ImgBurn to build your ISO image. Once you have the ISO file, insert your USB flash drive on the USB port then run Rufus. Accept the default settings then among the options, make sure “Create a bootable disk using” is checked then select “ISO Image” from the dropdown list.
