Hi,

I tried using the BitPim program which is a program that allows manipulation of data on phones. I have a Samsung phone and I know BitPim works on Samsung too. But when accessing the file system tab to browse my folders I run into the error below. Please help.

Error message:

Access to the file/directory has been blocked on this phone by the phone provider

I always get this error when I was still using my Nokia phone before. There is really no solution because the locations or folders in the phone’s system are all set to read-only and worse is all access to the file system are completely blocked. And it’s true that BitPim supports Samsung handsets and if this is the case, you are probably using the wrong handset model that’s why it can’t be accessed.

To learn if your Samsung model is supported by BitPim, visit BitPim Phone Features Supported. On the left pane, browse down until you reach the Samsung models. See if your phone’s model is included in the list. If you can’t find it there then your mobile phone is really not supported and you cannot use BitPim on unsupported models and manipulate its data. See image.

If you wish to download the installer again, click BitPim 1.0.7 to download the Windows version. It works on Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. If you are using Linux, click BitPim 1.0.7 for Linux RPM. See the image below when installing on Linux.

For Mac OS X users, click BitPim 1.0.7 for Mac. It supports Mac OS X 10.3 and up.
