I love to draw and paint, and I usually draw imaginative anime characters that will just popped out in my mind. However, I have seen people draw on the computers and I also wanted to try doing it, May I ask a recommendation of a software for 2d character creation?

Dear there are many graphic software available to make 2D and 3D paintings and characters as you said in question.
Some software are available with the name of 2DÂ graphic designer, you can use anyone.
But for the better results, I suggest you to use Corel Draw and Adobe Photoshop.
These two software are the king of graphic world.
If you want to use Corel draw, I will recommend its 9 version.
If you are going to use Adobe Photoshop then you should use version 7.
