Is there any significant variation between CAT5e and CAT6? Would CAT5e be fine to cover a long distance i.e. can it serve well over large connections? Does anyone know any difference between CAT5e and CAT6 cables?
The Basic Difference Between CAT5e And CAT6 Cables!
Yes, there are some differences between Cat5e and CAT6 cables. As far as the distance is concerned, CAT5e will also do good for a lesser price.
CAT5e stands for ‘CAT5 Enhanced’ and so, it is ten times faster than CAT5 and also covers a huge distance without being interrupted by crosstalk.
On the other hand, CAT6 cables can handle almost 10GB of data, and its bandwidth is limited to approximately 160 feet.
