Try uninstalling the AVS4YOU software in this manner. Click Start, All Programs, AVS4YOU, and select Uninstall. Once it is removed, click Start and type without quotes “regedit” in the search box and hit Enter. See image.

Next, in the registry editor window, go to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftware]. Find AVS4YOU folder, right-click on it and select Delete. See image.

In case you are using x64 Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7, go to this location instead [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREWow6432Node] and do the same with the AVS4YOU folder. After that, go to [HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftware] and delete the AVS4YOU folder. See image.

Next, exit the registry editor. Open Windows Explorer and go to “C:Program Files” and delete the AVS4YOU folder. See image.

For users running x64 Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7, go to “C:Program Files (x86)” and delete the AVS4YOU directory. Next, go to “C:Program FilesCommon Files” and delete the AVSMedia folder. See image.

For 64-bit Windows users, go to “C:Program Files (x86)Common Files” and delete the AVSMedia folder. This now completes the uninstallation process. You should also remove the license folder to make sure it won’t get damaged. For Windows XP users, you can find it in “C:Documents and SettingsAll UsersApplication DataAVS4YOULicence”. For Windows Vista and Windows 7 users, you can delete it from “C:ProgramDataAVS4YOULicence”. Make sure to copy the key before you delete it. See image.

Once the License folder is removed, download and install the latest version from AVS Video Converter 8.5. Once it is installed, just reactivate the applications using the license key you copied earlier.
