Hi

Have you ever face such problem while setting up AVG?

I was using Avast for a long time. Everything was okay before yesterday.

I reinstalled my Windows and download AVG from internet.

But when I tried to install it, following error message is appearing and the installation process goes to quite.

Is this because of any problem in installation file or other issue?

Please let me know.

Most of the time this kind of problem happens due to error downloading try to download with internet explorer to download the avg application again then try installing again and another thing is that error code :0x80070001 is come when some file is missing it is windows file or installer package file. So if still the problem is not solving then try to re-install your windows to recover your missing file. Thank you.

Hello Rose,

Error 0x80070001, is a windows error. Actually it’s a kind of backup file or restores file error. As in your problem you are telling that your PC not being able to initialize the installation that means either your windows installer is missing something for this particular program installation of the AVG file you downloaded that has some problem. now only way to find out that who is a real problem for that please download another AVG setup file from any other host. Now before start installing, clean almost everything like temp files, cache, cookies and also clean registry. If after that the same problem arises than this is must be the installer problem and for that you have to download a windows installer and first install that, than install AVG.
