Avast free Anti-virus stopped working after updating

Hello,

My Avast Anti-virus was the free registered version and it's registration period has expired recently. I updated it and the day after it was showing an error. No matter how many times I try to activate it is showing unprotected. So I am in some major predicament recently. Please help me as quickly as possible to solve this problem.

Avast free Anti-virus stopped working after updating

Hi John Parker,

It may be possible that your avast antivirus has been corrupted. Try updating both the virus signatures and program version before trying for activation. Otherwise try to restore your computer to the previous state before updated and then activate it. 

I suggest you should uninstall your avast antivirus completely and then install a new latest version of it available on their site. You can download the latest version of Avast antivirus from here : Download it and then install it.Restart your system if prompted and then register your avast free version.
