Last week, I downloaded Audacity 1.3.9 and up until now it is not functioning properly.
Absolutely nothing happens whenever I click on the icon on my desktop.
I uninstalled the program and re-installed it again but to no avail.
I think some components of the program can be found throughout the computer.
Can anyone please help me?

This may because of excessive memory use arising in your system when you open the software so this results to slowed launches as well as crashed application. See if you meet the system requirements for the version of the audacity.
It is better if you have higher resources on your system so that you will not be having hard time in using it.
Read readme.txt so that you are aware of the bugs still unsolved.
