Assigning ringtones to a contact in Samsung

Hello Techyv,

Do you know when Samsung Galaxy Tab will have an update to Android 2.3 or is it not a global update? 

Can anyone here, tell me how to assign a ringtone to a contact in Samsung Galaxy Fascinate with Android 2.1?

Assigning ringtones to a contact in Samsung

HI James!

Update of the Samsung galaxy tab to Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread is now available and it is global.

There are some available  tutorials in the net.

To assign a ringtone to a contact in Samsung Galaxy Fascinate (Android 2.1):

Option 1:

1. Go to Music Player.

2. Highlight / Choose the song you want to set as a ringtone for a specific contact.

3. Click Set as > Caller Ringtone

4. Add the Contact.

Option 2: 

1. Go to Phonebook and select the Contact.

2. Click Menu / Edit.

3. Select ringtone.

Yes its very possible what you need to do actually is to create a contact on the music player if at all you want to get to assign the song from the music player as you contact ringtone go to the menu button while the song is playing once you do this it will then give you that option of setting as ringtone which you will have to choose in the option.

Or alternatively what you can do you can actually y select the menu/edit button then scroll down you will find an entry for ringtone which you will have to select or go to contacts click the contacts then menu then options then default ringtone hope this helps
