Antivir Personal 10 installation error

Hello,

I cannot install the setup for Avira AntiVir Personal version 10. When I try to install it using Windows XP Operating System the following error message appears on the screen. I need your assistance to fix this weird error message. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for help.

Setup of Avira Antivir Personal – Free Antivirus

Installation of the Microsoft Runtime Redistributable kit failed.

The problem cause is a windows update running in parallel,

Please check whether a windows updates in progress and run Avira Antivirus Personal – Free Antivirus setup again a little later.

If the installation fails again, Please contact Avira Support.

Setup will close.

Antivir Personal 10 installation error

There are two solutions here. Try doing the simple one first which is to download the installer extract's zip version and run the setup.exe. If it works, very well. If not go tot he next solution below.

The next solution aims to fix the problem from your system. Normally, it is your system that is preventing the installation of your Avira Antivir. To resolve this you need to install the program Hyjackthis. Here's how:

 

1. First download it from the net. It should be easily searchable.

2. When you have downloaded it, do not run it from your Temporary Internet folder. Go instead directly to the directory where you saved HiJackThis.exe and double click on it to run the program.

3. Save a log file by clicking the "Main" menu button and do a system scan.

4. The file named "hijackthis.log" will open automatically in Windows notepad. It should work well at this point.
