All songs deleted from iTunes

I downloaded iTunes in my iPhone and transferred all songs from my computer into it. It was working fine but today when I accessed it, the program was empty and there were no songs in the playlist. All podcasts were marked as new. Can anyone tell me what exactly happened? Were they deleted? How can I correct this problem and make sure this doesn't happen again?

The songs were in all your podcasts were not deleted but are rather still copied on your computer. However, they can easily be added back to your iTunes by following a few simple steps as shown below. You can follow the same instructions whenever something like this happens again.
