The Adobe Flash Player 10 cannot be downloaded

Hi there,

The Adobe Flash Player 10 is not able to download in my Vista PC. I want to use the Adobe Flash Player 10 with Mozilla Firefox 3. I have clicked on the link provided at ‘get.adobe.com’ to download the same, as per  instructions. I think it was supposed to ask for ‘run’ or ‘save’, but it was asking for ‘save’ or ‘cancel’ only. So, I selected ‘save’ and then another dialog box opened up ‘install_flash_player.exe’ and it gave me an message which says that ‘it is an exe file and it may contain viruses’ and then I selected ‘OK’ and ‘continue’.

Again another message comes which says that Mozilla Firefox should be closed before the installation. Even after I closed the Mozilla Firefox the message is coming again. Please help me to solve this issue.

I will thankful for all help.

Kevin

When you download adobe flash player from their official site, you first receive an installer which downloads adobe products. You will select the products you want to download and install. This could bring some problems at times when one wants to download and install the adobe flash player. You can install using a stand alone setup file which is not offered by adobe. Here is a link to one website where you can find adobe 10.1.102.64. http://www.softwarepatch.com/internet/flash.html when you download the file which is 3MB it will install without any more downloads making it straight forward. If you have more problems still, you can download and install Google Chrome browser which comes with built in flash player .

Are you sure that you are indeed downloading the flash player plug-in from the adobe site, because that is one site that should not be propagating any malware when it comes to downloading adobe related products. You should just try saving the setup first, and then close the browser, and then trace the location of the file and execute it from there.

In case you continue receiving problems, you may also try downloading the flash player setup from other alternative sites. I will recommend for you the following:

  • cnet downloads
  • www.softpedia.com

Just access any of the sites and then search for adobe flash player 10 and download it. You may be advised to download the most recent version which I advise that you do. Once you have downloaded it, locate its location on the computer and then run it.
