Hi beloved friends,

I recently updated from 5.1.2 to 5.2.3 in my PC. I wanted to use IE6 and Acrobat Reader 7.0.5 to suit the work nature.

But I receive this error message (posted below) from Acrobat Reader when I try to open a PDF file in IE6.

Acrobat Reader error-error opening this document

Adobe Reader

There was an error opening this document. The file is already open or in use by another application.

OK

But, I’m able to open the PDF file in a separate window if I uncheck the “display in web browser” option in Acrobat. It also works well in Firefox 3.5 and acrobat 7.

Please help me resolve this issue. Post your answers to help me.

Thanks a lot!

Hi

I will solve your problem on Adobe error. You are using older version of Windows, which does not support all applications. The Adobe Reader plug-in should display the PDF file in your browser. May be it is incompatible with IE6. Also check that the Adobe Reader app is open with the PDF file.

Hi Gustavojakee,

This issue occurs because the file that you’re trying to open is already opened by the other programs, if you want to open it close the other software that is using it and then open your PDF files. You may also consider upgrading of your software.
