Acer Aspire 7700 rebooting at login screen

Hi there,

I have an Acer Aspire 7700 which is going off immediately after log in screen shows, I had installed Windows 8  then upgraded to Windows 8.1 when this started happening, sometimes it will work fine, and others it will get stuck on reboot loop, What is the problem ? How do I get this laptop working?

Hi !

Your problem after an update which causes problems are a common issue. Many users have this problem after they switch from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1and is a problem with some temporary files that are missing and when your OS starting to boot can't find the files. You can solve this problem by running some software from Microsoft Support Windows Update and will scan automatically for problems. Also you can try Microsoft Update Repeatedly Offers the same update. Press Run button which will pop in automatically (depending on what browser you use) or you can press the Run button manually.
