Acer Aspire 5670 not detecting webcam

Hi there,

I have an Acer Aspire 5670 and I bought this webcam (Crystal Eye) and I have Ubuntu 13.10 and I can't find the webcam on my devices, I have tried plugging, restarting, checking the drivers and nothing seems to work, what could be the problem, how can I activate plug and play devices on Ubuntu?

Acer Aspire 5670 not detecting webcam

Hi !

First you have to uninstall the previous webcam. Your new webcam Crystal Eye make sure the CD drivers are compatible with Ubuntu, if the CD is not compatible with Ubuntu download the driver from the official site of your webcam.

The Second step would be plugging in and installing the webcam. Install the driver without webcam plugged and when the installation is done plug in the webcam and run the search and install new hardwares. An autorun will begin and it will install your webcam properly.
