The MacBook Air 11.6 is supported by thunderbolt. This Thunderbolt era is the latest high resolution associated technology for presentation. Previously called Light Peak, Thunderbolt is the new connection technology developed by Intel, introduced by Apple with its latest MacBook Pro Models. By all means brand new connotes ‘just new’ or ‘first’. Thunderbolt allows for high speed-connection of peripherals such as hard drives, RAID arrays, video-capture solutions.

Each thunderbolt port also provides up to 10 Watts of power to connected peripherals. Each thunderbolt port includes two channels. Can provide up to 10 Gigabits per second (Gbps) of data throughput, which in theory defines and shows Thunderbolt as ‘blazing fast’.
