I want to get a wireless adaptor which I can use for several other devices. The sony wireless adaptor seems to be working exclusively on Sony products only. What are other sony wireless adaptor alternatives that can work with any DVD player?

I think I am facing an overheating problem with my Hp notebook, as it turns off instantaneously and I felt that it has been really hot from the base. Need expert opinion how I can monitor it and any precautions for protection will be helpful.
