Hard Drives

I just added a Seagate 2T drive to my computer as a second drive. Everything loaded including the drivers. Now when I go to the drive map it only shows the first drive. I can not access the new drive at all or get it to show up in the list.

I share a computer with my roommates and I think one of them is untrustworthy.  Is there a way I can protect my information and data on the hard drive. And secure it with a password? If I can do this without the other people finding out. Any ideas?

I use my PC for work which requires me to run a lot of reports that are really large.  I end up deleting them later to save space on my drive. Is it important to defrag your hard drive manually?  Can I set my computer or run a program to automatically do this for me?

Hello! I am a Windows user and I have a lot of different data on my laptop some of which I cannot share with others since sometimes the privacy of my laptop may be compromised. So I have to hide a few folders from other users and only I know where they are. One of that folder contained some legal documents and I wanted to give those documents to my lawyer via USB. So initially I just sent him the main folder in which the sub folder was hidden but he could not find the sub folder and hence could not un hide it. So the next time, I revealed the sub folder and then gave it to him via USB. But even after that, he could not access the documents. Why is this happening? Do hidden folders from your computer become inaccessible from other computers forever?

Why is my hard disk not accessible on my desktop computer? The desktop PC is selecting hard disk. Immediately after post test check, the computer is complaining of missing hard disk while the hard disk is on board. I have recently removed the hard disk and test it on another personal computer and it was working fine. Could it be that the hard disk is bad or another component of the system is at fault?
