VMWare Remote Console Plugin Error

Hello,

There is an annoying error from my VMWare. Just as soon as I launch it an error saying “vSphere web access not working. The attempt to acquire a valid session ticket for virtual machine took longer than expected” appears. How can I resolve it? When I click Try Again, the error pops up again.

VMware error message.

Remote Console Plug-In Error

Cannot access virtual machine console. The request timed out.

The attempt to acquire a valid session ticket for " " took longer than expected. If this problem persists, contact your system administrator.

VMWare Remote Console Plugin Error

Hi,

This problem is probably because of Window permissions and its common in version below VMware vCenter Server 4.0. This means you have to either upgrade your virtual machine or or fix it using this workaround.

You have to have administrative rights so as to access the VM console.To have the admin rights

1. Using a user account with admin priviledges.log into the vCenter server.

2. Then click on the Start, then Run, enter this command "compmnmt.msc"  and finally OK.

3. Put the user in the Local Administrators group and a shortcut for this VM at the desktop then

• Use the web Access to log into the vCenter Server
• Go to the Virtual Machine then to the summary tab.
• make a selection of "Generate Virtual Machine desktop Shortcut" option and click OK

4.  Go back to the vCenter Server and revert the changes to the user account. Now to go to the console use the shortcut at the desktop.
