Bad Image Error after a damaged .dll file

I’m having problems with a damaged .dll file. Until now, I noticed that the Windows Photo Gallery as well as Winamp is already affected. I tried opening Winamp and I received an error posted below:

C:Windowssystem32WindowsCodecs.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support.

How can I establish a resolution? Help!

I have solutions for your problem that I have researched

Please download this file in this trusted download site

https://www.dllme.com/dll/files/windowscodecs_dll.html

And  after the download is finish, then copy paste it to the folder C:windowssystem32 

And then reboot the system and try running winamp again.

If that will not work try uninstall and install on winamp (Get the latest version of winamp)

If that will not work then try to update your antivirus, and run a full  system scan  on your pc and then update also your OS to its latest update. Have a good day and enjoy your stay here.

Hello Merced

After doing a little research, I have found out that this error that you are encountering, is not generated only by the programs you listed. So in order to prevent other programs to damage, I suggest you do the following:

Access this site and download WindowsCodecs.dll Fixer

Install the fixer and allow it to connect to the internet in order to make changes in your Windows Registry . After the fixer has finished installing windowscodecs.dll on your computer, all the errors will be gone.

After this, reboot the computer, and do the following 2 things:

Download the latest version of Winamp. You can download it here: http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?t=374929#download

After that, please make sure that you have the latest video drivers installed on the computer.

For Nvidia go to: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

For ATI go to: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download

Also, you can download and copy manually the dll file, into the requested program folder. Download this from DLL Files and then copy the windowscodecs.dll to the installation directory of the program requesting it and also into your C:WindowsSystem32 folder .
