Will dod approved secure wipe software wipe entire hard drive?

I want to wipe hard drives from my computer. But I want to wipe just a portion of them.

Will DOD approved secure wipe software wipe the entire hard drive?

Or can I just choose which ones to erase?

Hi,

The software you stated in your message may wipe the full HDD. You should use ‘Partition Magic’ software for wiping the drives. It can accumulate many drives without OS setup and drives can be divided in many drives if needed. The memory size never decreases for using it.

Hi Nicholls dougg,

To wipe some part of hard disk there are few software available on internet which can provide you such property where you can wipe hard disk space on drive where there is no storage of data.

Software you have mentioned is not the one which provides this facility so I will recommend you to use cCleaner as this software help you to wipe only particular part of drive and it’s free to use.
