That problem may be occurring because the operating system has been corrupt. It could have been attacked by a virus that corrupted some important DLL files that are required for the operating system to work properly. And therefore as a resolution to that problem, I will suggest that you do the following:

• If you have an antivirus on your computer, make sure that it is updated and then perform a full system scan of your computer so as to find any malware that may be causing that problem and remove them.
• You may be forced to reinstall the operating system to fix any bugs that may be developed in it in case the workaround above does not offer much help.

If on booting your computer the system returned a message saying no operating system was found, first thing to do in this case is check all the USB ports on your computer and remove any USB device currently connected like USB flash drive, external hard drive, and others. Once you cleared all the USB ports, try booting again.

If this doesn’t work, you need to check the internal cables. Turn off your CPU then open the CPU case. Now, disconnect all the cables from the hard drive. After this, connect the ribbon cable back to the drive if you are using an IDE or the SATA cable if you have a SATA drive.

For the power, connect a different power supply cable to the drive. When you are finished, start the CPU again then press Del, Delete, F2, or whichever key is used to go to the BIOS. In the BIOS, go to the drive management section and verify that the hard drive is detected. Save the settings and exit.

If this doesn’t work, disconnect the other end of the cable from motherboard for IDE then connect it back. For SATA, connect the other end of the cable to another SATA port.
