Dear Techyv Guys, I would like to know about securing email in Mac OS X using encryption mac mail concept, will that be concept be able to provide secure email. Please do the needful for suggesting the detailed method and settings of encryption mac mail. Thanks in Advance, Joseph Bankk

Securing email in Mac OS X using encryption Mac mail concept

 

To secure an email, first you need to purchase a secure signing certificate from a 3^rd party company (like Verisign, Thawte Communications and alike). They would primarily be in .p12 format (PKCS12 file format). Once you have obtained a security certificate, you need to import this by either double clicking on the .p12 file, or, by dragging the file inside the Keychain application icon found in Applications > Utilities. Exit the Keychain Access then open your mail and the security key is now available for you to use. To sign a message, you only need a private key. When you go in the Compose window, click on the icon  to sign the message. A signed message will show this line above the mail: 

To encrypt an email, you need to have both the private key of the sending mail and public key of the recipient. In the compose window, this means  mail will be encrypted, and this is not encrypted . And that's it! You already have your mails encrypted.
