Hi Experts,

In Ubuntu 11.04 I tried to install .deb file from Ubuntu Software Center. I received an awful error message as the package is of bad quality. It also gives an additional information “The installation of a package which violates the quality standards isn't allowed. This could cause serious problems on your computer.

Please contact the person or organization who provided this package file and include the details beneath. ”

Have any idea for this problem?

Please help me to solve it.

Hi,

This usually occurs when the package has been downloaded from an un-trusted source. As you have downloaded it from the Ubuntu software center this is not the reason. It happens sometimes when there is a problem with the server. You cannot check a package whether it is good or bad quality. So just follow the steps below to install it in an alternative way:

1. As you have downloaded the install.deb package it will be in the Downloads folder under the .deb tab. If it is not there in the tab then locate it and move it to the .deb tab. After making sure that the file is present in the correct place, type the code in the image below in the terminal:

2. Now, restart the computer and you will see the icon on the screen. The package is now installed on your computer.
