Picture viewer code error 0x80010108

I get a picture viewer code error 0x80010108 when I try to open up .jpeg files. But If I save the files to another location they open up fine? What can be the problem?

Dear Effieclyde,

Sometimes it may be an image viewer software fault or sometimes it faced with Windows Live Photo Gallery when viewing pictures from external devices such as cameras or memory cards. But don't worry about this problem. If you save the files to another location they open up fine. So you have to convert it as same file extension of others whatever you want. For the best solution you can convert it with Adobe Photoshop software.

Picture viewer code error 0x80010108

It seems the problem is with the extension name used on your file, “.jpeg”. I also get that problem when the image has that extension name instead of “.jpg”. My problem was usually fixed by renaming the extension name. Select your image file then press F2 on your keyboard to edit the filename. Now, rename the extension name from “.jpeg” into “.jpg” and press Enter.

Try viewing the image again and see if it works. Additionally, error “0x80010108” is not only related to images but also with the Windows Update. Sometimes when you update Microsoft Windows using the Windows Update feature, the system throws “error 0x80010108”. Aside from getting it when updating Microsoft Windows, it can also appear when installing apps from the Windows App Store in Windows 10.

If you encounter this error on Windows 10, one way of fixing it is to empty the Windows Store cache. On your desktop, go to “Control Panel”, “User Accounts”, “User Accounts”, and click “Change User Control Account Settings”. Set it or drag the bar to “Always Notify”. Next, make sure your screen resolution is set to 1024 x 768 and your date and time are correct.

After this, open command prompt and type without quotes “wsreset.exe” and press Enter. This should empty the Windows Store cache. Try installing the app again and see if it works.
