Extend Exchange 2010 Database Size Limit

I have 1024 GB size of my database in Exchange 2010 Standard Edition. I want to know how to extend exchange 2010 database size limit. I am new to this can you please guide me through this? Also how much can we extend the database size?

Extend Exchange 2010 Database Size Limit

Your database size limit of Standard edition is set to default because 1 TB is the default size of the database. If you need to modify the size limits, then you can use Registry Editor. You can add or change the size values in the editor. Firstly, open the Regedit and locate the registry key.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetServicesMSExchangeIS<Server Name>Private-<database GUID>

Now check the following two conditions:

• If the subkey exists for the Database Size Limit in GB DWORD, then change its value to whatever size you want in GBs.
• If the subkey for the Database Size Limit in GB DWORD does not exist, then create a new keyword with the existing name and then change its value to whatever size you want in GBs.
