What are those free ads on google Canada websites all about? I am wondering what is the use and importance of ads on google? Is it all for advertising purposes and how it works? Share your ideas with me guys.

What are those free ads on Google canada websites?

Hi Karrie,

Most of  Google's revenue comes from advertising. The advertisers pay Google either when a user clicks an ad or depending on how many times those ads appear on the website (Google Network). They don't allow ads to be displayed on their results pages unless they are significant.

Here's an example of an ad:

 

 

 

As you can see, the ad that came out was relevant to the search term given.

It is basically a win-win situation for google and the advertisers as well as the consumers/Google users. Google will get paid, the advertisers will be able to market their product and we as users can stumble upon a great deal.
