Error on Software Update Tool device not configure

Hi,

I use Software Update Tool but failed to update it. What do "error device not configure" mean? Can somebody help me fix this problem? It looks like i encountered a lot of errors.

Update process fails with below error’

Error Code: 0x4000

Error: Task 2 of 2, Restore Phone Data fail, Error = DEVICE_NOT_CONFIGURE (0x4000). mit Mode = Emergency Download Mode.

Error on Software Update Tool device not configure

Hi, 

I read some texts that pointed out that the best way to solve this error when having it is to use the so called "System Update Readiness tool. The software can be downloaded with ease, and what it actually does is it scans your computer and corrects all the faults, while in the meantime it installs itself. The scan should take 15-20 minutes, although sometimes it takes a bit more.

If this fails, use the Microsoft Download Center.

Hi Lark,

                This issue can be caused by many factors, one is your antivirus probably it is blocking incoming traffic, windows file issue specifically .net issue this often cause for updates to fail. You might want to check whether you can perform a windows update. If it fails then try to first run a repair on your .net.
