What is wireless display? Will one laptop be able to stream to monitors on multiple desks? Will Wireless display gain momentum with the growing adoption of WiGig? Suppose laptop ultimately will be able to connect to multiple wireless monitors. Now, what will be the advantage of connecting laptop with multiple wireless monitors?

The WiDi technology or Wireless Display technology was developed by Intel. It allows users to stream videos, music, photos, movies, and applications from a compatible computer to a compatible HDTV. Intel WiDi supports 5.1 surround sound, HD 1080p video quality, and low latency for interacting with applications sent by the computer to the TV. Users can perform various tasks simultaneously on their TV and PC with the help of the Intel WiDi Widget.

You can check your emails on the computer while streaming a movie to the TV using the same device. Miracast is now supported in Intel WiDi 3.5. Miracast is also included in all Smartphones running on Android 4.2 and later.
