I have issue with my Modem Any Help?

Hi All,

I have an issue with my modem. My modem DSL light never turns solid. I’ve been waiting for 2 hrs now but it’s still blinking. Now I wonder if the modem or the phone jack itself is broken.

Do you know any other way to tell which one is broken?

Please help and thanks in advance!

Hello Aldiaz,

The problem could be that your modem does not have enough credit, to be able to connect to the internet. You will therefore need to recharge it and then try connecting again. Or if it has credit, the network can be slow at the place that you are or for the time being which happens sometimes, and therefore you just have to wait for some time and then try to connect the modem again and see if it works.

Try restarting the computer to refresh the connections, and then connect the modem and see it works. Sometimes restarting the computer solves the problem.

Hello,

Firstly check if the phone cable that is dedicated to your modem is correctly plugged in and then if it is  perfectly fixed, check the phone jack if it is properly working.  If you want to test the phone,  if it is working, see if there is a dial tone and make sure you have a telephone line  plugged into the jack on your modem.

If you are using an internal modem,  just confirm that it is resolutely settled in the growth slot and then if you are using the external  modem just simply check the power cord and then the power switch.  Also check the serial cable and the linking if they are properly  fixed in your computer.

Hi I did the restarting of my modem and nothing happened still got the problem. so I tried restarting it again in a while. and the problem seems to be gone. Thank you for your advices. It did helped me a lot.
