I am having issues with installing Skype 3.8, please help.

Error

A later version of Skype 3.8 is already installed.

                                                     OK

Hello,

You can understand that the skype 3.8, That your downloading is there in your computer machine. you must have installed it previously, To look for existing skype folder , press Window tab -type "SKYP" and it will come-up, However if you are not able to find folder, Any kind of error, Simply go to control panel and click on programmes and reinstall the software.

Hi Taegan, I believe I will be able to help you solve the problem, you need to look for a previous version of Skype installed on your computer as this may be the cause of the problem.

Make sure to fully uninstall it and delete its files from the registry.

Reboot your computer

Try reinstalling the software and it should work well.

Hello dear,

It seems that you have overloaded your computer two of the same thing. When you install two of the same software on your computer, then it will create this problem, which in fact this is not a problem; it is a notification or reminder. It says that you have already installed a later version of Skype on your computer. Check first for installed software on your computer. Do not try to reinstall it. Click on the start button, then “all programs”, then find Skype in the list of programs. I hope this helps you. Thanks.

Hi Raegann,

First you need to look for the previous Skype program that you have installed in your computer already.

If you find it, uninstall this version completely from your computer.

Open control panel > Add/Remove programs. Uninstall it.

After doing so, reboot your computer and try to reinstall latest version that you want.

In this situation, it will work smoothly.

The latest version of Skype can be downloaded from this link
