AVG Anti-Virus File Missing Problems

I have a well-updated AVG anti-virus. It’s working fine except just recently when it says that a certain .bin is missing. I tried updating but it says failed. What’s wrong with this?

AVG Anti-Virus File Missing Problems

Please follow the AVG 2012 (incl. Previous Versions) Uninstall / Re-Install Instructions to completely re-install AVG.

Msinfo output and AVG Update Log files needs to be investigated in case that the issue persists.

Good day Karrie,

Maybe when the time you update your AVG anti-virus,  AVG temporarily ceased it's server for the users to update due to more updates are coming. try these steps :

1. Find and launch your AVG anti-virus program.

2. Click Menu then locate Advanced settings

3. Click Update then locate URL.

4. Choose and locate Default.

and update your AVG based on these instructions https://support.avg.com given by AVG.

AVG Anti-Virus File Missing Problems

If your AVG antivirus is now giving you errors about a certain BIN file that gone missing, the file is probably corrupt and not missing. The program triggers a missing file error because it cannot access the file because it is corrupt. If you still have its installer, just reinstall AVG. It should fix the problem on the BIN file.

Download and install Revo Uninstaller Freeware. Once installed, run Revo Uninstaller, look for the AVG antivirus in the panel, and then uninstall it. This way you are sure all components of AVG will be removed. After this, restart your computer. If you still have its installer, run it to reinstall AVG antivirus or better yet, download and install the latest version from AVG Free Antivirus Download.

This should fix the problem. The latest version supports Windows XP Service Pack 3, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 10. It requires at least 1.5 GHz or faster processor, 512 MB RAM, 1.5 GB free hard drive space, and 1024 x 768 pixels screen resolution. It supports Windows Internet Explorer 6 and up. For Mac users, it supports OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion and up.
