How do you check you’re computers hardware specifications?

I'm using Windows XP standard. I got my computer in 03 for 2 grand… (Dumb choice, I know.) And I need to check my hardware specifications. I mean like EVERY detail. Like the graphics chipset, the RAM type…. etc (Plan on updating comp soon… And I need to check what I can upgrade…)

How do you check you’re computers hardware specifications?

Go to run and type msinfo32 and press enter.  It will open a new window and tell you everything about your computer.

You can find several categories in the right side and expand it and you will know all about it.  In the opening window you will see the basic information,  it will be enough for you to get an idea

or

Right click on my computer and select properties, it will show the information about your computer ( processor speed, RAM )

Right click on desktop and go to display properties to see the Video card Details ( VGA card size and the manufacturer )

But I recommend you to use msinfo32.  It is very easy and everything is there.

Hello Mile.

A couple of years ago, I used AIDA 32.  Unfortunately, it's no longer being developed.  But now, I have 2 applications which I now want to suggest to you:

• PC-Wizard from CPUID :  CPUID used to just develop the tool that detects all features of you processor.  Aside from detecting processor features, it also validates over clocking so it is very popular with PC enthusiasts.  PC-Wizard follows that same tradition of excellence.  It also has features for running benchmarks.
• Speccy from Piriform  Like most of Piriform's products, Speccy has a great user interface. Constant updates ensure you that the latest hardware is supported.

I suggest you try both and see which one shows you what you need.

How do you check you’re computers hardware specifications?

Hello,

Go to search and type DxDiag.  Press Enter and you will see the DirectX diagnostic Tool.  Now you will see the system information toy on your computer, if the system runs well and you will see the drives installed on your computer like the operating system, system manufacture, system model, the BIOS, processor, memory and the DirectX version of your Unit.

If you want to see the video card, just go to the left side you will see the display button beside system button ; just click and you will see the device or the DirectX features and the drive if they run well on the computer.
