How can I fix the error with my Windows OS?

Hi,

I tried rebooting my PC after uninstalling some hot fixes for Windows XP and now can’t log-on to it. When booting up I receive the error message “Stop:C0000139 {Entry point not found}. This procedure entry point uuidtostringw could not be located in the dynamic link library RPCRT4.dll” on a blue screen. At the same time I tried to select the options of safe mode, debugging mode, last known good configuration and enable boot logging by pressing the F8 button. Even though I had the Windows XP disc in the CD drive, I still kept on receiving the same error message.

Did I accidently delete the service pack? Can anyone help me please?

To fix this problem you need the Windows XP Recovery Console. You are actually on the right track but what you need to do first is boot your PC using the Windows XP CD-ROM. Most computers require users to modify BIOS settings so you could boot first with your CD-ROM. So go to your BIOS settings change your "Boot Sequence".  Once done, restart your PC still with the Windows XP CD-ROM inside. 

 

Now at the setup screen start the Recovery Console by pressing R.  You would then have to choose the number that matches the installation that you want repaired, then hit ENTER.

 

Input Administrator Password, hit ENTER.

 

Now you will be prompted to a screen to type in some commands. Do not remove Windows XP CD-ROM yet. Type in these commands and hit ENTER after each line:

 

cd system32

 

ren RPCRT4.dll RPCRT4.old

 

CD-ROM_or_DVD-ROM_Drive_Letter:

 

cd i386

 

expand RPCRT4.dl_ BootDriveLetter:windowssystem32

 

exit

Hello Dear,

 

Thanks for sharing your problem here. Yes you are right. You have lost service pack. But don’t worry. The solution that you have been go through the previous comment is enough. Now, I am giving some modification.

1.Boot the windows with windows XP installation CD

2.Go for the recovery console

3.Now go for the MS DOS prompt. A black screen should appear

4.There you need to type  copy d:gdi32.dll file c:windowssystem32

5.After that type copy d:gdi32.dll file c:windowsservicepackfilesi386

6.Reboot your PC again

I thing this problem will never bother you
