I had a Windows 8.1 PC. My attempt to upgrade it to Windows 10 failed. I did a fresh install of Windows 10 and entered a genuine product key, but I encountered a 0xc004c003. Please help.

Here are some ways to fix the 0xc004c003 error.

Method 1

This error is often caused when the Windows Server is overloaded. If you have already tried to activate the product at a different time of the day, go to method 2, else try to activate your product after a few hours.

Method 2

a. Search for command prompt in the Windows search box and open as administrator.
b. Type slmgr.vbs –rearm, and press enter.

c. Restart your device after the process completes.
d. You will find an activated product.

Method 3

a. Press Windows + R on your keyboard.
b. Type SLUI 4 and press enter.
c. Select your region, and continue.
d. Call the number displayed on the screen.
e. Follow the instructions overcall, and talk to a human operator.
f. The person will help you to activate Windows 10.
