How To Fix Error 0x3000D?

Hello. If you are facing the error: 0x80070004 – 0x3000D while updating your Windows version from 7 to 10 or 8 to 10. Many windows users face this issue. I have listed some possible solutions to fix the error to follow them.

Method 1:

Renaming the PC name might help you to fix the error: 0x80070004 – 0x3000D. Follow the below steps to rename the PC.

Note: Never keep your system name as SYSTEM, LOCAL, SELF, or NETWORK; because they are reserved keywords, they might cause an error. The name cannot have any special characters.

• Click on the search icon, enter rename computer, click on rename this computer.
• System properties dialogue box pops up, click on change.
• In the computer name box, enter the new name of your PC, click on ok.
After this, try updating your Windows version.

Method 2:

• Step 1: Hold Windows key + R, enter re-edit in the dialogue box, click on ok.
• Step 2: In the left pane go to “computer/ HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows/Current version/ windows update/ OS upgrade.
• Step 3: In the left pane, now right-click and select “new DWORD”.
• Step 4: Rename it as AllowOSUpgrade.
• Step 5: Change its key value to 1, close the dialog box, and run updates.

Method 3:

Create a new administrator account on your PC.
• Click on the search box, type cmd, run it as administrator.
• Type “net user administrator/ active: yes”.
• Reboot your PC and next login as an administrator and try to update the windows version.
