How to convert MKV Video files to AVI on a Mac computer

I need help in transforming or converting MKV video files to AVI on my Mac Leopard. I want to watch movies and TV series on my PSP, however it only recognizes AVI files. Is there a way to transform MKV files to AVI using Mac?
